PostgreSQL continues its reign as the most widely used open source database due to its powerful feature set and rich ecosystem of tools and extensions. Join Yugabyte’s co-founder and CTO, Karthik Ranganathan, as he delivers a masterclass on building a future-proof distributed SQL database that fully “speaks” PostgreSQL and is designed specifically for cloud-native applications.
Technology Track

How can retail organizations effectively address intense competition and unprecedented market changes? A data model-first approach to application modernization is the answer, giving these organizations a solid foundation to deliver better customer experiences, boost profitability and increase responsiveness.
In this session, Yugabyte solution architects will share lessons learned from working with innovative retail and retail tech organizations including Kroger, Narvar, Justuno and a top-five global retailer. We will cover the data principles and reference architectures behind mission-critical transactional workloads such as the product catalog, inventory management and order management systems.

Developers continue to be one of the most valuable resources of a company. The tools they use need to align with modern cloud native development practices while helping them be as productive and efficient as possible. In this session, we’ll go over a practical demonstration of a cloud-native stack with distributed SQL and talk about how YugabyteDB can assist you in creating distributed apps quickly from scratch using a scaffolding accelerator.

In this session we will aim to understand from how Yugabyte uses postgres query layer and understand the how yugabyte stores the data in DocDB. Knowledge about how the data stored will help in building better data model and queries.

Do you think using the PostgreSQL code for YugabyteDB’s query layer constrains the optimization of distributed SQL processing? Not at all, but this is a common misunderstanding of YugabyteDB’s innovative architecture spread by competitors. Let’s clear this up once and for all with a simple example. YugabyteDB can scan multiple ranges in one Index Scan. This feature, known as Loose Index Scan or Index Skip Scan, doesn’t exist in PostgreSQL or in other Distributed SQL databases. Only YugabyteDB, the PostgreSQL-compatible Distributed SQL database, provides it. We’ll examine examples where these results in substantial performance boosts and verifies that YugabyteDB implements numerous optimization enhancements beyond PostgreSQL

Change Data Capture (CDC) is a key technology for many company’s data integration strategies. In this session, we’ll walk through a hands-on demonstration of how YugabyteDB’s CDC Connector can be easily integrated with popular data lakes (e.g. Azure Synapse Analytics) and common sinks (e.g. Elasticsearch and MySQL).

MySQL is one of the most successfully open source databases that is still widely adopted by the industry. In this session, industry veteran Ron Xing will review how MySQL was built to deliver its high availability (HA) architecture and then compare that to the modern capabilities of Distributed SQL and how new databases, like YugabyteDB, can improve the ability to deliver high availability for today’s cloud native applications.

Explore the world of distributed SQL databases from the team at Tokopedia as they share their experiences leveraging a cloud native database like YugabyteDB. Hear about how the team overcame challenges, the benefits they experienced using a multi-model and distributed database, and the impact it has had on the development and engineering teams. Our panel of experts will also share their insights on the best practices and lessons learned while leveraging distributed SQL databases, like YugabyteDB, for different types of workloads.

Drupal has evolved from being a Web Content Management Systems to a Digital Experience Platform with widespread enterprise adoption. Today we see large implementations of Drupal in cross every industry—from Media & Entertainment to Retail to Government.
In the session, we’ll look at how enterprises commonly deploy Drupal, which can range from using a Drupal SaaS provider to increasingly more Kubernetes-based deployments on public, private or hybrid clouds. Historically, Drupal applications used MySQL or PostgreSQL as their database of choice. But these database have limitations as Drupal applications rely more and more on the cloud and Kubernetes. Join us to learn about how we can use YugabyteDB, a PostgreSQL-compatible distributed database, to power your modern Drupal workloads. We’ll discuss the values that Yugabyte brings on table to make Drupal workloads more resilient on the cloud of your choice.

App Modernization is a key area of focus for many organizations to maximize the benefits of their cloud investments. In this session, we will discuss how Red Hat OpenShift and YugabyteDB can help organizations improve their App Modernization success with cloud native development and deployment capabilities provided by modern application platforms and the growing popularity of distributed SQL databases.

A modern SaaS Platform requires flexible infrastructure, modern application architecture and a powerful database in the middle. The wrong database can have a negative impact on your customer’s experiences. In this talk, you will learn how the persistent data layer impacts both the performance and scalability of a distributed system. We’ll examine how YugabyteDB, a modern distributed SQL database, can help you overcome these challenges.

The rapid growth of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) real-time payments has stretched the limits of traditional relational database systems (RDBMS). Like many modern applications across different industries, these apps require high scalability, predictable performance and extremely reliable data. In this session, we will discuss how more and more organizations are leveraging modern databases, like YugabyteDB, to deliver horizontal scale and enable active-active setup for mission-critical apps.

Conducting multi-region data read and write operations for cross-border payments has historically been slow and complex due to limitations of traditional database systems. In this session, we’ll analyze how the utilization of YugabyteDB, a distributed SQL database, offers an effective solution to this problem. We’ll share real-world insights and experiences from Airwallex’s integration of YugabyteDB technology to help you understand the benefits of distributed SQL databases.
